post show high

The last three days have been such a highlight of our year. we have loved meeting so many new people in such a short space of time and have been thrilled by the positive feedback we received about our work.

I once read:

The goal is not to change your subjects, but for the subject to change the photographer.

We love that fact that each of our clients changes us a little - we learn a little more about our craft and we gain so much from what is shared with and shown to us and so I agree with a photographer friend of mine who wrote:

When you use a camera, not as a machine but as an extension of your heart, you become one with your subject.

What a week

I haven’t had time to post much this week but thanks for all the positive feedback on the blog so far. Was not doing much photography this week as lots of family stuff going on - my little boy turned four so there was lots of birthday party action. His party was a riot.

I also got my new lensbaby this week. Had a little bit of time to play around with it this evening - once you get used to the completely different way of composing and focusing it’s really fun to use - I can’t wait to try it out on a wedding shoot - I think the results could be wonderful - it produces a really impressionistic image which can sometimes be very powerful. The one below is just me playing with my new lens in the garden, my first lensbaby image for the record!
