Why I love Apple

My new MacPro arrived last week. I think I maybe love it more than is healthy. However it seems that in my excitement when ordering I screwed up and ticked the ‘German keyboard’ option. I called them yesterday to see what they could do. An English keyboard arrived this morning. No quibbles. No hassles.

They make beautiful objects and have given me consistently great service. That buys my loyalty every time.

Back from the US

What a blast! Two weeks in the US visiting some great friends. Our tour took us to Atlanta, Chatanooga, Nashville, the Smoky Mountains and, oh yes, Dollywood. No kidding.

Now we’re back and gradually getting back to everybody who left us messages and emailed while we were away. We’re also in the middle of a great week with fab LoveShoots and meetings with lots of new clients. The LoveShoots have been fab - sneak peaks here in a couple of days!

We’ve trying to catch up with some of our blogging recently. These images are from last year when we spent a weekend in a beautiful part of Donegal. We were staying in two houses with a lot of people, a lot of children, and enough food, wine and traybakes to feed a nation. It was a kind of multi person gathering for great pals who live in Nashville (more about that fine place coming soon!)

Firstly the house. Gorgeous and simple, and did I mention the roaring fires? The people : some we knew, some we didn’t, but it was one of those weekends of when we chatted, walked, ate, talked, walked and ate some more. Some of the guys had their kayaks with them and we did some crab fishing.

Here are some fav images from the weekend! To all who were there - sorry these took so long to post, but here they are!

Enjoy!

We just came back from a one amazing weekend in London.  We lived in London for a while in 2001 and everytime we go back we are reminded that it is simply one of the best cities on earth.

We did some fun stuff! Our favourites were:
Meeting up with old friends over some extraordinary food in Ubon. The attention to detail was outstanding.

Hanging out in our favourite cafe in Soho. It’s tiny and almost impossible to get a seat, but frankly, it’s the best coffee we’ve ever had.  Anywhere. And we drink a LOT of coffee.

We were blown away by Doris Salcedo’s installation in Tate Modern. I saw her talk on Tate Shorts and love that when this exhibition ends, the ‘crack’ will be filled in, but the place where it was will always remain visible and will form part of the lasting fabric of the Turbine Hall, even as new works enter. Extraordinary.

We marvelled at the early morning sun on the pillars of St Pauls.

We soaked up some Christmas atmosphere.

We loved this dude - who was dancing to a band who were playing at the Frost Fair on the south bank. He was so cool! And had all around him totally captivated with his funky moves. He loved being photographed and we connected through taking his picture. It made our morning.

sad post. on the way back from our holidays, we learned that bella had died. She was an amazing lady and was so part of Kenny’s life when he was growing up near Edinburgh. She was one of these special characters that really touched lives where ever she was. She lived through 2 world wars, her own husband dying more than 40 years before she did. We celebrated her 96th birthday with her in Fife in January this year.
